The streets are always occupied. And the 24hr deli on the corner is a rip off - but there is something about it. The convenience of its all-hours attitude jives with mine. Parched one night - too lazy to change out of my night-dress lingerie - threw on some tights and bolted for the shop which we'd discovered boosted the hugest selection of vitamin water. The Olympics were on so I drank my VW and watched it for a bit. Guy was getting change or something. The guy asked me - in thick accent - who are you cheering for?
I said Canada. They thought it was a great joke! Witty. I didn't mind being mistaken for a local.
